Most non-vegan restaurants offer an alternative for vegans. Why don't you offer an alternative for non-vegans when we are forced to dine with vegans

Hi, I was wondering if you use vegan sugar for your recipes, etc.

I know that you are all vegan, but I also know that you serve soft drinks which does not have vegan sugar in it. I was just wondering what the extent of your vegan menu is? Thanks so much. G. --Gretch <mailto:gsrheetrclhock@aol.com>

Awesome job opening a vegan restaurant! I live in Pittsburgh. Is there only this one "Grasshopper" in Boston, or are you guys thinking about opening more and having a chain? Thanks for just being a vegan restaurant! It's so hard ordering at a regular restaurant where you have to ask all kinds of questions about the food and stuff.

My friends and I make the trip from Providence at least once each month to have dinner here. I can not express enough thanks to Grasshopper for providing such a fantastic place for vegans to dine out. It is so nice to have a restaurant where you know you can try anything on the menu, and also be confident that whatever you have will be absolutely delicious!

I am neither vegan nor vegetarian. But I have to say, you've spoiled me! I can't enjoy other Chinese restaurants because the taste is just bland and dead in comparison. I've never had food this fresh, and this coming from someone who travels a lot and has eaten at fine restaurants on both coasts. This is the best Chinese food I have EVER eaten. I could easily make the transition if more places like Grasshopper were around. Please get a location in the west coast!

My husband and I love your restaurant. We even had you cater our (small) wedding a year ago, and the food was, as always, excellent. We just discovered we could have your food delivered to out house in Kendall Sq, so, today after failing to get the 64 bus that's got a very mysterious schedule (and we could actually GET to your place) we ordered for delivery. My husband almost always gets your NoName, and I like all kinds of things you have. Tonight I got your Kale and Gluten Supreme. I'll have it tomorrow for lunch as well! Thank you for all you do - we love having a place we can bring friends to where we know they'll enjoy your food.

Hi,
2007-10-20 22:55:24 GMT
I really love your restaurant, but I think you should consider stop using single use bamboo chop sticks. Maybe, your restaurant could switch to using reusable plastic chop sticks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chopsticks#Environmental_impact "In China alone, an estimated 45 billion pairs of disposable chopsticks are used and thrown away annually. This adds up to 1.7 million cubic metres of timber or 25 million fully grown trees every year. To encourage that people use and throw away less, as of April 2006 a 5% tax is added to the price of chopsticks in China. This measure is part of the first tax package in 12 years." Best Gerald

The food there is very good. I went about 3 years ago and recently went again. The food is still good. But the service was only okay. The waitress I had then is still there today and took our order. She never writes anything down which is fine except she left out one of our orders. Turn out good cause we ordered too much food anyways. But when we went around the table to order a dish, she'd interrupts and says yes that's number something and immediately go to another person. That's really rude but also my friends weren't finished and wanted to order more or had a question about the dish. The waitress would interrupt my friends when they had questions about the dish with what she thought was the question when it wasn't. It felt so rushed and is just rude and it it very confusing. Maybe that's fine when it's just 2-3 people but we were a group of 6. After she took our order, she never came back again to check if we needed anything. We had to flag one of the helpers to get forks and drinks. And of course she showed up when it was time for the check. Excluding the waitress that's been there for forever and is very cocky - the other staff were very nice.

We will be attending an event at the Hard Rock Cafe in Quincy Market this February and there is nothing on their menu that remotely interests me. My boyfriend (not vegan but respects my choices) and I will finally get to enjoy your restaurant! A totally vegan menu, can't wait!

I like to go here and place ground beef from a ziplock bag that I bring on some of the food. People don't seem to know or care. What a lifestyle.....

The buffet schedule is from last year. Should I take that as meaning that you guys are slow to update the website or that you don't do the Sunday buffet any more?

The sign on the awning says "Veagan", but your buisness card says "Vegetarian". I hope you know those are two different things.... over all, the food ain't bad. --The Omnivor

Thank you for a wonderful Mother's Day meal! You were a great way to end our trip to the Boston area from Columbus, OH! The portions were as large as we had when visiting Viet Nam in 2007, and authentic too. The Spinach Garlic, Curried "Squid", "Chicken Fingers" and Nori Rolls made a great snack when we finally made our hotel in Scranton, PA. Your restaurant is a must for anyone looking for a healthy, and wonderful meal when visiting the Boston area on business or vacation!

My boyfriend and I went to your restaurant yeserday, and the food was absolutely amazing! It's nice to be able to go somewhere and know that you can have whatever you want on the menu, and not worry whats in it. First we started out with the chicken fingers, which tasted so much better then real ones...then for dinner we both got the sweet and sour sensation which came with brown rice and a little bit of salad with really sweet salad dressing. Then for dessert, we had the blueberry cheesecake. That was the best part! I couldn't believe how good it was! All of the portions were really big, and the prices were not bad at all. Service was also very good. I liked how the man waiting on us spoke English. Overall, I would rate this restaurant an 11 out of 10. It was phenomenal and we will be back! We plan to take our family back with us as well vegans and non vegans!

I dine there monthly with the Boston Vegetarian Society (BVS = www.BostonVeg.org) and have a blast. It's a great place to meet folks, veggie or no, and when family and friends visit from out of town, the Grasshopper is a comfy non-threatening place with a great staff whose attention level is JUST RIGHT! Love those folks!

The price is great, the servings are ample, and I love those vegetable-rich vegan buffets on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Most veggie and Asian places overload us with starchy noodles and fried food, but Grasshopper's health-supporting vegetable cuisine that's as savory as can be is "just what the doctor ordered" AND what we vegans want! --Maynard S. My sister and I visited the restaurant a few days ago and we're still raving about the place! The food was excellent (we had the tofu stir fry w/ "beef" fried rice), our waiter was very nice, and the place was easy to find. We plan on returning with friends and family. We're so glad there's a place where we can get delicious, healthy, "nonviolent" meals and great service at a good price. And I almost forgot to mention the portions are big. Thank you, Grasshopper!!!
